Implant posts are made of biocompatible materials such as titanium and zirconia, allowing them to incorporate into tissue when implanted. At the office of Dr. Carr, we place and restore dental implants using guided surgical techniques, for more comfortable treatment, and to ensure that your bite is balanced for necessary dental function. Implants also support jaw structure, preventing resorption of the bone and promoting better long-term health.
Once the implant has been placed and healed, an abutment and prosthetic are added to the top. During placement of your restoration, Dr. Carr is careful to protect healing and strength of your new tooth or teeth. Once healing is complete, the implant will be fully integrated into the jaw, allowing us securely place single restorations, full and partial dentures, and permanent bridges.
Our Temecula implant dentist provides multiple implant-supported restorations to ensure that you regain the full functionality of your bite. The restorations we offer include:
Single Tooth Restorations: Ceramic crowns on top of implants create a seamless appearance and are durable enough for teeth in the front and the back of the mouth. These restorations are cleaned by regular brushing and flossing, and are matched to the shade of neighboring teeth.
Partial and Complete Dentures: If you are missing most or all of the teeth in an arch, Dr. Carr provides implant-supported dentures. These full mouth restorations are removable and cleaned the same way as a traditional denture. This treatment allows patients to regain bite function, without the fear of their denture moving or coming out.
All-on-4® Treatment Concept: This full mouth restoration cannot be removed like some implant dentures, and is intended to function the same way as your natural teeth. This treatment is ideal for those who do not have the jaw structure to support traditionally placed dental implants, helping those who have been without teeth for longer periods of time.
Implant Pre-Treatment and Mini Implants
Candidates for implants will need sufficient gum health and bone structure for the implant to be integrated into the jawbone. At our Temecula practice, Dr. Carr works with patients and provides the necessary deep cleanings and grafting procedures to achieve ideal conditions for stable implants in the long term.
We also provide patients with mini implant-supported restorations. These implant posts do not require the same amount of jaw structure as traditional implants, allowing patients who have experienced a loss of bone health to attain the support and aesthetic appeal of implant restorations.
